About these files
Image handling has two limits that are easy to confuse: bytes on disk and pixels in memory. A good test set needs files that stress each one, in every format your application claims to accept.
All bitmap samples show the same test card of colour bars, a grey ramp, a checkerboard and a gradient, so the result of a resize or conversion is easy to judge by eye. Pixel dimensions are listed for every file.
